Cleats Make the Difference for Three Pro Tour Winners

BRENTWOOD, Tenn., February 17, 2020 – Winners at three pro tour events this week chose cleated footwear over spikeless shoes as traction, stability and control continue to make a difference for the world’s best golfers.

“Across the professional tours, leaderboards are showing what a difference cleated footwear makes vs. spikeless footwear,” said John Hohman, senior vice president of marketing for PrideSports. “We see it week after week – winners wear cleats.”

At the PGA Tour’s Genesis Open, the winner wore FootJoy® 1861 footwear with Champ® cleats. On the final leaderboard, 22 of the top 29 finishers chose cleated shoes.

On the Champions Tour, the winner of the Chubb Classic chose FootJoy® TourX and Superflex footwear with Softspikes® Pulsar and Silver Tornado replaceable cleats. The Korn-Ferry Tour winner at the LECOM Suncoast Classic chose FootJoy® Dryjoy shoes with Softspikes® Silver Tornado cleats.

Replacement Softspikes® and Champ® cleats can be purchased in the golf section of most large retailers, sporting goods stores, golf specialty and golf course pro shops across the country. Cleats can also be purchased online from any of these locations, your favorite online store or directly from www.golfspikes.com.

PrideSports is the undisputed leader in the golf cleat segment with its CHAMP® and Softspikes® brands. The company recommends golfers change their cleats every six to eight months – or even more frequently based on use – to ensure golfers get the maximum performance out of their footwear.

CHAMP’s Helix®, Zarma Tour® and Stinger® cleats, as well as Softspikes’ Pivix®, Pulsar®, Silver Tornado® and Stealth® cleats, dominate the OEM and secondary market in terms of performance and sales. More information can be found at www.champspikes.com and www.Softspikes.com.
