Cleated Footwear Claims Four Fall Victories on Professional Tours
Posted on October 01 2019
BRENTWOOD, Tenn., Oct. 1, 2019 – The fall portions of the professional golf tours are in full swing, and cleated footwear continues to find its way into the winner’s circle. Four winners on the pro tours this weekend chose replaceable cleat technology from PrideSports® brands Softspikes® and Champ®.
“The trend of the world’s best players wearing cleats continues into the fall season with four more victories this week,” said John Hohman, senior vice president of marketing for PrideSports. “Across the professional tours, golfers know that the traction, stability and control provided by cleats can help them lower their scores and win tournaments.”
On the PGA Tour, the winner of the Safeway Classic in Napa, California, claimed his second career victory in Nike Premier footwear with Champ® Metal Stinger cleats. On the leaderboard, 23 of the top 26 finishers were also wearing cleated footwear.
On the European Tour, the winner of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship earned a one-shot victory in FootJoy® Dryjoy shoes with replaceable metal cleats. On the Champions Tour, the winner of the PURE Insurance Championship was also wearing replaceable cleat technology.
At the LPGA Tour’s Indy Women in Tech Championship, the tournament winner was wearing adidas® Adipower 4orged footwear with Softspikes® Stealth replaceable cleats.
Replacement Softspikes® and Champ® cleats can be purchased in the golf section of most large retailers, sporting goods stores, golf specialty and golf course pro shops across the country. Cleats can also be purchased online from any of these locations, your favorite online store or directly from www.golfspikes.com.
PrideSports is the undisputed leader in the golf cleat segment with its CHAMP and Softspikes brands. The company recommends golfers change their cleats every six to eight months – or even more frequently based on use – to ensure golfers get the maximum performance out of their footwear.
CHAMP’s Helix®, Zarma Tour® and Stinger® cleats, as well as Softspikes’ Pivix®, Pulsar®, Silver Tornado® and Stealth® cleats, dominate the OEM and secondary market in terms of performance and sales. More information can be found at www.champspikes.com and www.Softspikes.com.
